Effect of Aging on Skeletal Muscle Regeneration in Rats

چکیده
[Purpose] This study investigated the effect of aging on muscle regeneration in rats. [Participants and Methods] Male Wistar rats were divided into 3 groups 10-week-old, 24-week-old, 95-week-old animals. We administered a cardiotoxin to soleus create skeletal injury model, physiological analysis histological was performed at 1, 2, 4, 7, 14, 28 days after administration. [Results] The cross-sectional area injured increased over time all groups, but it observed earlier younger groups. number Pax7 positive cells peaked 10-week-old- 24-week-old day 4 administration, peak delayed group. [Conclusion] results suggest that hypertrophy satellite expressed decreases with aging.
